TRIATHLON COACHing SEMINARS
swim and Run time trials
UPDATE: Registration is now closed. See you Sunday!
On Sunday February 9th, we'll be hosting two events in Guelph:
Registration for both events can be found here.
We're offering the two events on the same day to make it more efficient for out-of-town visitors. Coaches and athletes can attend either event, or both. Note however that there is some overlap between the swim time trial and the last two seminar presentations. The registrations fees are:
$10 for time trial(s) only
$20 for seminars only
$25 for seminars and time trial(s)
Triathlon Coaching Seminars
The idea to host a triathlon coaching seminar day was developed by our monthly coaches' journal club here in Guelph. The concept for this seminar is to provide coaches with information they can implement in their coaching practice. We chose topics that we were interested in learning about, and we're thrilled to have a great lineup of expert presenters on a variety of topics related to triathlon health and performance. Our presenters have been asked to present information they think coaches would find relevant and actionable in their coaching practice. Although our target audience is coaches, anyone is welcome to attend.
The schedule for the Triathlon Coaching Seminars is available below. We plan to host the seminars at the University of Guelph, and we're awaiting final confirmation of our venue booking. We'll update registrants with directions and venue as soon as the venue is finalized.

SWIM and RUN TIME TRIALS
Join us for some winter time trial action on Sunday February 9th at the University of Guelph. If you've ever wanted to try out a low key indoor track race or swim meet, this is for you. And if you're looking to complete your Triathlon Canada Ratified Times requirement, you can do it here. Athletes are welcome to do the run TT, or the swim TT's, or all events; whatever you choose.
We'll offer a 1500m run time trial in the morning, on the indoor track (flat 200m) at the Gryphon Field House. Arrive and sign-in between 7:00-7:20AM, warm-up until 7:40AM, and then run your TT at 7:40AM or 7:50AM, depending on heat assignment. We'll use hand timing (ie. stopwatches) and make a video recording for those who need to submit the results for ratified times.
Our swim times trials will take place in the University of Guelph Gold Pool (8 lane, 25m). We'll use electronic touch pad timing, and record the heats for video submission. We'll only be doing the 200m Free this year, with no other events offered. We'll be piggybacking a Marlins swim club meet, and our final start time is TBA, but should be approximately 12:00PM or 12:30PM. We'll have a firmer idea of start time the week preceding the event.
7:00-8:00AM Run Time Trials, Field House Indoor 200m Track
1:00-2:00PM Swim Time Trials, Gold Pool
